Summer Camp Assistant

Camp Assistants are responsible for learning curriculum, teaching, and/or assisting with the Museum’s Summer Camp program. The camp assistant will organize and teach a variety of small and large group activities, be responsible for the safety, care, and wellbeing of their group of children, and facilitate additional camp activities such as lunch and recess.

Camp Assistants must be 18 years or older at the start of camp, and should have experience working with children ages 6 and up. Additional qualifications include a demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement a project from start to finish. The Museum teacher should have experience working as a member of a team as well as demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks independently.
Experience working with youth in a camp, afterschool program, or recreational setting is a plus.

The position is 30 hours/week during camp season, 8:00 am – 3:00 pm. Mandatory staff training is June 25-29; camp dates are July 9 – August 17, 2018.
