The Museum Teacher for Summer Camp is responsible for learning, teaching, and developing curriculum for the Museum’s summer camp programs. The position is responsible for the safety, care, and well being of each camper group both on and off the Museum property. The Museum Teacher should have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in education, museum studies or related field (relevant professional experience can be substituted), and one years’ experience engaging with youth ages 6 and up, in an educational recreational, or caregiving capacity.
Additional qualifications include a demonstrated ability to lead, plan, organize, and implement a project from start to finish. The Museum teacher should have experience working as a member of a team as well as demonstrated ability to accomplish tasks independently.
The position is 30 hours/week during camp season, 8:00 am-3:00 pm, with additional time before the first camp session to prepare and develop curriculum. Mandatory staff training is June 25-29; camp dates are July 9 – August 17, 2018.
