Grades PreK-1 School Groups

School groups are invited to explore the Museum independently or through guided activities.

City by design

2 hours, $100 per class up to 30 students.
Minimum of 4 chaperones required per class.
Students become city planners by planning, then constructing an imaginary city. Guided by a museum educator, students begin to see connections between school curriculum and community issues.

My House, My Home

1.5 hours, $100 per class up to 25 students.
Minimum of 4 chaperones required per class.
Students explore the process, tools, and materials used to construct homes before building a home of their own. Guided by a museum educator, students begin to see connections between school curriculum and their own community.

The Three Little Pigs Build a House Storybook Reading

30-45 minutes, $35 fee, guided.
This activity will teach children about the basic components of building and will introduce a variety of materials needed for construction. Appropriate for children ages 3–5.

Self-Guided Exhibition Visit

$5 per person fee, self-guided.
Group rates to visit the Museum’s exhibitions are available for groups of ten people or more by making a reservation.

PLAY WORK BUILD

Time restricted exhibition; access included in general museum admission.
For groups interested in this interactive exhibition, please indicate this during the reservation process. Each reserved slot is 1 hour long.

PATTERNS KIT

45-90 minutes, $25 fee, self-guided.
Use this activity kit to teach and explore patterns in architecture in the Museum’s historic building.
