Spotlight on Design

The Museum presents Spotlight on Design lectures featuring many of the world’s premier voices in the fields of architecture, landscape architecture, urban planning, and design. Programs in the series present the work of Pritzker Laureates, American Institute of Architects’ Gold Medalists, American Society of Landscape Architects’ Medal recipients, as well as from emerging designers.

Past Speakers include Pritzker Prize Laureates Tadao Ando, Zaha Hadid, and Rem Koolhaas; American Institute of Architects’ Gold Medalists Moshe Safdie, Santiago Calatrava, and Steven Holl; and the American Society of Landscape Architects’ Medal recipients Laurie Olin and M. Paul Friedberg.

Offsite Programs

Earn Continuing Education Credits

The Museum often provides continuing education credit for the American Institute of Architects (AIA), American Society of Landscape Architects (LA CES), and American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). Individual calendar listings contain credit information when available.

The Museum hosts the Architecture & Design Film Festival: D.C. annually. The festival celebrates the creative spirit that drives architecture and design through feature length, documentary, and experimental films, and shorts.
