Museum Operations Volunteer

Historic Building Tour

Assist in a variety of areas:

  • Information Desk
  • Museum Shop
  • Public Programs
  • Docent-led tours
  • Behind-the-Scenes
  • Museum festivals and programs

The museum is currently recruiting for many areas, but particularly for docents to lead tours of our historic building. Docent training is intensive to insure our volunteers are well prepared and informed.  New docents are required to take the prerequisite Docent 101 course, a two night course that will be offered from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on March 21 and 24. The content training for our historic building tours is a six night training that will be offered from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm on April 5, 7, 11,13, 19, and 21.

Expectations

  • Be enthusiastic about working with visitors
  • Attend training and orientation sessions, and complete all required paperwork
  • Carefully read all communications from the Volunteer Office
