Introduce Students to the World of Architecture, Construction, and Engineering
“Thank you again – these [museum] programs were by far some of the highlights of the year for the kids. Chock full of education and eliciting 100% engagement…a teacher couldn’t ask for more!”—Leighton Thomas, MacFarland Middle School, D.C.
Support Your Community's Children
Our children are the next generation of architects, construction managers, and engineers. Yet for years, District of Columbia students have consistently fallen below the national average in school achievement, particularly in some of our area’s most under-resourced schools. But working together, we can help them be their best, preparing them for success as they build their futures. When you adopt a local Title I school (one with a high percentage of students from low-income households), children in your community will be introduced to the world of architecture, construction, and engineering and they will acquire valuable life tools such as problem solving, team building, and self-confidence.
Together we can give students award winning learning adventures at the National Building Museum. With your support, students can construct their own balloon frame house, teachers will receive lesson plans that introduce the concepts of civil engineering and sustainability, and donated books will engage young readers with the built environment.
Now is the time to inspire future designers to imagine a better world they can begin to build today.
