Foundations & Government Support

In 1980, the National Building Museum was founded to champion achievements in the built environment. Today, the Museum annually hosts dozens of acclaimed exhibitions, educational programs, online content, and publications, providing a vital forum for the exchange of ideas and information about the world people create for themselves.

Foundations and government agencies support the National Building Museum by maintaining long-term partners and cultivating new alliances with public and private entitites. We depend on commitments from many supporters, including the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities, the National Endowment for the Arts, the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation, the Clark Charitable Foundation, and other extraordinary partners.
