The presentation of the 2007 National Building Museum Honor Award to Related.

The National Building Museum recognized Related, an industry-leading fully-integrated real estate development firm, for the company’s positive and significant contribution to the built environment at its exclusive Honor Award gala on June 14, 2007. Held in the Great Hall, the event was attended by industry leaders in architecture, development, construction, and real estate. Chairman and CEO of Related Companies Stephen M. Ross and Chairman of The Related Group Jorge M. Perez accepted the award. Founder and partner of Robert A.M. Stern Architects Robert A.M. Stern; New York City’s Deputy Mayor for Economic Development and Rebuilding Daniel L. Doctoroff; Time Warner Center architect David M. Childs, FAIA, of Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP; and Bernardo Fort-Brescia, architect and principal of Arquitectonica presented tributes at the ceremony.

Related was honored for their promotion of architecture and design excellence in new development; their commitment to high-profile, transformative urban mixed-use projects; their leadership in the creation and management of affordable housing across the nation; and their legacy of innovative business strategies that have become models for economic development and community revitalization.

Annually, recipients are selected from a wide variety of backgrounds to call attention to the many factors that determine the form and quality of our built world.
