Every summer the National Building Museum hosts a series of lectures dedicated to significant movements in architectural history. The series offers the general public, students, and professionals an opportunity to learn more about these important historical movements by understanding the cultural, social, and technological contexts of that period. Previous lectures in the series have focused on the Greek Revival, Modernism, and Frank Lloyd Wright's Prairie School.

Self-guided walking tours are available for every style covered in the series. The tours offer examples of buildings that feature the architectural elements discussed in the lecture and allow students, professionals, and the general public to hit the pavement and discover architectural history, whether they have attended the program or not.
