LED Cities: Investing in the Future

David Konkle, Energy Coordinator for the City of Ann Arbor, Michigan will discuss the city’s plans to promote LED lighting technology across its infrastructure.

LED City is an expanding community of government and industry parties working to promote and deploy LED lighting technology across the full range of municipal infrastructure.

David Konkle will discuss Ann Arbor’s plans to participate in the LED CityTM programs including:
•Goals of the program, such as saving energy, protecting the environment, reducing maintenance costs, improving lighting quality for increased visibility and safety, and saving tax dollars.
•Ann Arbor’s conversion of all outdoor lighting to LEDs, including funding for the project and potential cost savings.

Building for the 21st Century is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy.
