ARCHitecture Family Day

Kick off the summer and join the National Building Museum in a celebration of Eero Saarinen’s iconic works of architecture at ARCHitecture Day. Featuring puppetry, film, dance, Lego® building challenges, and special exhibition tours of Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future.
During ARCHitecture Day visitors can:
- Discover Lego® representations of Saarinen’s widely popular structures presented by the Washington Metropolitan Area Lego Users Group.
- Take a FREE, docent-led tour of the exhibition for an in-depth look at Saarinen’s work. Tour times: 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, 1:00 pm, and 2:00 pm.
- Create a puppet show about the St. Louis arch with shadow puppeteer Daniel Barash. (10:30 am)
- Watch Monument to the Dream: A documentary film by Charles Guggenheim which chronicles the construction of the Arch. (1:00 pm, 3:00 pm)
- Explore arches through body movement in a community dance class led by Liz Lerman Dance Exchange faculty. (2:00 pm, 3:00 pm)
- Build your own arches at the Amazing Arches, Legos, and pop-up architecture stations.
