Edward Durell Stone: A Son's Untold Story of a Legendary Architect
January 11, 2012 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Hicks Stone, Edward Durell Stone’s youngest son and author of his biography, lectures on the breadth of his father’s life and career from his days as one of the earliest practitioners of European modernism in the 1930s to his later proto-post modernist work of the 1960s. His father's preliminary proposal for the Kennedy Center is included in the exhibition Unbuilt Washington, which will be open for viewing prior to the lecture. Following the lecture, Mr. Stone will sign copies of Edward Durell Stone: A Son’s Untold Story of a Legendary Architect (Rizzoli).
