A memorial service for Robert Lautman will be held at 6:30 PM on Friday, December 4, 2009 in the Great Hall of the National Building Museum.    

Kay Lautman and the Lautman family welcome guests to join them in honoring Bob's memory. The program, which will begin with Kay and Bob's son Jonathan Lautman, will include messages from the following individuals, and will be followed by a reception.

  • Chase W. Rynd, President and Executive Director, National Building Museum
  • Susan Stein, Richard Gilder Senior Curator and Vice President for Museum Programs, Monticello
  • Carol Cadou, Director of Collections, Mount Vernon
  • Carolyn Despard, former Picture Editor, Smithsonian Magazine
  • Benjamin Forgey, former architecture critic, The Washington Post
  • Frank Schlesinger, FAIA
  • Donald B. Myer, FAIA, former Clerk of the Works, Washington National Cathedral
  • Hugh Newell Jacobsen, FAIA  

The program will conclude with remarks from the family. Please use either the F Street entrance, located across the street from the Judiciary Square metro station or the G Street entrance, which is handicap accessible. Onsite parking will not be available. Metered parking is recommended, and parking garages are located nearby.
