One hundred years ago, Congress established the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts to guide the development of the nation’s capital. In this day-long symposium on May 19, 2010, noted historians discuss the design and planning of Washington, D.C. from 1910 to today, and the role played by the Commission in creating the national capital as we know it.
