The Home Depot Foundation has been a proud supporter of the National Building Museum since 2006 when it became the presenting sponsor of NBM’s highlight exhibition, The Green House: New Directions in Sustainable Design and Architecture.
Since that time, The Home Depot Foundation has continued to support NBM’s mission of educating and enlightening people about the impact of the built environment on our lives.
In early 2009, The Home Depot Foundation provided NBM with a $1.5 million grant which will allow the Museum to create an exhibition focused on sustainable building methods for the American home. The grant also supports NBM’s ongoing sustainability programs and the greening of its galleries.
The Home Depot Foundation is dedicated to building affordable homes for working families that are healthy to live in and affordable to own. To make homes healthy and affordable, the Foundation encourages developers to incorporate responsible design and use durable materials to ensure that homes are more energy and water efficient, have good indoor air quality, and provide a safe and healthy space to live.
