Delegates Portal

What is an Intelligent Cities delegate?

The National Building Museum is inviting up to 200 individuals to join a delegate body who will serve in the following capacity:

  1. Provide insights that will be valuable to the initiative. Insights will shape the project’s polling questions, outreach, and forum programming
  2. Submit and vote on fellow delegates questions, which will be promoted in a full page ad in TIME magazine
  3. Spread word-of-mouth about Intelligent Cities content

What are the benefits of being a delegate?

Becoming a delegate is an honor. Nominate yourself or an individual that you believe has expertise valuable to this community and that would benefit from joining this group of innovators. Certain perks and privileges conferred are as follows:

  1. A free copy of the Intelligent Cities publication when complete
  2. Input into the final question that is publicized in TIME Magazine
  3. Input into future Intelligent Cities exhibitions
  4. Connection via a private Google Group to other delegates
  5. Access to iStrategyLabs’ civic innovator network

What is expected of delegates?

There are only a few requirements for being a delegate and we will only take a little of your time:

  1. Invest 30 minutes per month answering questions in the delegates Google Group. These questions will come from National Building Museum staff and Intelligent Cities advisors. They may include requests for video responses etc.
  2. Submit and/or vote on the sixth question we should include in a TIME magazine infographic ad. This question will be launched in April, 2011.
  3. Attend the June 2011 forum if possible
  4. Tell people about this initiative via word-of-mouth, blogging, Twitter, etc.
  5. Nominate two or more potential delegates we should consider
  6. Provide a 3-4 sentence bio w/ links and headshot

*We are currently not taking nominations to become an Intelligent Cities delegate. We will reopen delegate nominations on June 7, 2011.
