Our nation needs more than 240,000 new skilled craftspeople each year just to keep up with this demand! Geared towards secondary-school students, this free program is a great chance for students and educators to learn first-hand about the numerous career opportunities in this industry. Students and teachers alike will have the chance to meet professionals from various trades to discover why construction careers are so rewarding.

The November 21, 2008 expo featured hands-on demonstrations and activities, including:
Bricklaying; Concrete Finishing; Carpentry; Nail-Driving Contest; Electrical Wiring; Power Tools; Computer-Aided Drafting (CAD); Drywall Finishing; Painting; Landscaping; Heavy Equipment; and more!

Representatives from community colleges, universities, architecture schools, and training programs were present to discuss a range of training options and degree-granting programs.

Students had the chance to hear and learn from professionals representing the design, development, construction, and project management facets of this dynamic industry during panel discussions about design and construction overview throughout the day.
