Provide an unforgettable birthday at the Museum for your children and their friends. Birthday parties at the Museum are two hours long and for children ages 3-11. Available October through June, parties are a National Building Museum membership benefit and are available only to Family-level members or higher.

Registration for October–January parties opens on September, 6, 2016 at 12 pm.

Birthday Parties are sold out for the months of October, November, and December. Party dates that are still available are: January 14

Register for February-June parties starting December 19, 2016. Parties not available July-September.

Each party includes time for free play, a building activity facilitated by a museum teacher, thematic party hats for participating guests, a special gift for the birthday child, and complementary admission for participating guests (children and adults).

Choose from three exciting themes:

All Aboard! Train Construction Birthday Party

All Aboard! Train Construction
Children become train engineers for the day. They investigate all kinds of trains, and design and construct their own train using a variety of craft materials. Child engineers don conductor hats and "drive" trains along the tracks on a colorful floor map.

LEGO pieces

Brick Bonanza
Children put on construction hats and explore architecture as they design and construct their own buildings using thousands of LEGO® bricks. Families can choose between standard bricks or Duplo, based on the guest age range.

Castles and Crowns Birthday Party

Castles and Crowns
Children have a royally fun time investigating types of castles. Wearing their own crowns, each guest builds their dream castle, complete with towers, dragons, and gems.
