Steven McCullough

President and CEO, Bethel New Life, Inc.

Steven McCullough serves as the president & CEO of Bethel New Life, a 30-year old, faith-based community development corporation. Under McCullough’s leadership, Bethel has sharpened its focus to build a “Community of Choice” on the Chicago's Westside by targeting its annual budget of $17 million and more than 350 employees to deliver quality affordable housing options, increase educational options, and create wealth building strategies for more than 150,000 residents.

McCullough began his career in operations management at The Quaker Oats Company and then moved to supply chain consulting at Accenture. After ten years in the private sector, McCullough switched gears and moved into community development work. He served as Executive Vice President at the Chicago Association of Neighborhood Development Organizations (CANDO) before joining Bethel as Chief Operating Officer in 2001. 

McCullough is active in Chicago where he is a board member of the Chicago Rehab Network, Greater Chicago Food Depository, Center for Neighborhood Technology, Garfield Park Alliance, the Woodstock Institute. He has been selected as a Leadership Greater Chicago Fellow (2002), British American Project Fellow (2007), and an Annie E. Casey Foundation Fellow (2008).

McCullough holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from Loyola University of Chicago and a Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Chicago.
