Kate Haw joined the National Building Museum as vice president for development in October 2011. She works closely with a development team of 11 to plan, develop, and implement the Museum’s fundraising strategy while working to advance the strategic interests of the Museum both internally and externally. Prior to joining the Museum, Kate was executive director for development & administration at the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture, one of the nation’s most prestigious artists’ residency programs. Earlier in her career, she held both curatorial and development positions at the American Federation of Arts and the National Gallery of Art. Kate has been president of the board of the Sweet Briar College Friends of Art, as well as an active member of the Alliance of Artists Communities and the Art Museum Development Association.
Kate has a B.A. in art history and religion from Sweet Briar College in Virginia and an M.A. in art history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
