Thomas Cook

Tom

Thomas Cook is interested in program evaluation and in contextual factors that influence child development in less affluent urban groups. He has written or edited ten books and numerous articles. He has received the Myrdal Prize for Science from the Evaluation Research Society, the Donald Campbell Prize for Innovative Methodology from the Policy Sciences Organization, the Distinguished Scientist Award of Division 5 of the American Psychological Association, and the Sells Award for Lifetime Achievement, Society of Multivariate Experimental Psychology. He has been a member of and chair of the board of the Russell Sage Foundation. Cook is a fellow of American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. He was part of the congressionally appointed committee evaluating Title I (No Child Left Behind), and is currently a member of the HHS Secretary’s Advisory Committee on Head Start Research and Evaluation.
