Louis R. Chênevert was elected President and Chief Executive Officer of United Technologies in April 2008. He held the position of President and Chief Operating Officer, and served as a Director of United Technologies since March, 2006. Prior to that, he served as President, Pratt & Whitney from April 1999 through March 2006.

Before joining Pratt & Whitney in 1993, Chênevert spent 14 years at General Motors. He served as production general manager of General Motors’ St. Therese operation.

Chênevert is a member of the Business Roundtable and is a founding director of and serves on the Board of Directors for the Friends of HEC Montreal. He also serves on the Director’s Advisory Board for the Yale Cancer Center and is a Co-Chair for the Smilow Cancer Hospital Capital Campaign Committee. In 2005, Chênevert was inducted as a Fellow of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA). This AIAA honor is limited to people who have completed important engineering or scientific work, or who have contributed greatly to the arts, science, or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.

He earned a bachelor of commerce degree in production management from the University of Montreal, HEC.
