Spotlight on Design

New York-based designer Jamie Drake, FASID, IIDA, has long used his exuberant color sense, taste for glamour, and eye for telling detail to create memorable residential and commercial interiors in a range of styles. Among the most notable are a Los Angeles showplace for Madonna, residences in the Dakota and other historic New York buildings, multiple projects for New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, including Gracie Mansion and various rooms at City Hall, a private, New York-based foundation, and a ground-up medical facility in Florida. He has also masterminded collections for F. Schumacher, Safavieh, Lewis Mittman, THG, Elkay and Labrazel. A widely published member of the Interior Design Hall of Fame and Andrew Martin International Interior Designer of the Year in 2003, Drake sits on the board of the New York Community Trust and the Historic House Trust Directors’ Council. In 2011, he was inducted into the ASID College of Fellows. Drake currently serves as the Chair of The Alpha Workshops, where he has been a board member for more than a decade.
