National Building Museum Names Four to Its Board of Trustees

National Building Museum chairman Michael J. Glosserman announces the appointment of four new Museum trustees. The following individuals joined the board of trustees on October 1, 2011 for three-year terms:
 

  • Meg Bartow – senior vice president, Ogilvy Washington, Washington, D.C. 
  • Thanasis Molokotos – executive vice president, ASSA ABLOY; president and CEO, ASSA ABLOY Americas Division, New Haven, CT
  • Kelly Romano – president, Global Security Products, UTC Fire & Security, Bradenton, FL
  • Jose Antonio Tijerino – president and CEO, Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Washington, D.C.

“We have a supportive and active Board that is now stronger thanks to the addition of these talented professionals,” said Michael J. Glosserman, managing partner, The JBG Companies.

“We are grateful to our new trustees for their commitment to the Museum’s mission,” said Museum president and executive director Chase W. Rynd. “We advance the quality of the built environment by educating people about its impact on their lives.”
 
Meg Bartow

Meg Bartow, senior vice president with Ogilvy Washington, is a communications leader with more than 15-years of experience dedicated to designing integrated communications to advance public causes, improve health and safety and financial literacy, and inspire behavior change among individuals, communities, and peer networks. Currently, she specializes in disaster education, crisis communications planning and management for government agencies and associations.

Meg is a graduate of The College of William and Mary and has a Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Thanasis Molokotos

Thanasis Molokotos is executive vice president, ASSA ABLOY and president and CEO, ASSA ABLOY Americas Division. He is responsible for operations in North and South America with companies primarily located in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Chile and Colombia. ASSA ABLOY Americas, a reporting region of the parent company, is part of ASSAY ABLOY AB, the world’s leading manufacturer and supplier of locking solutions dedicated to satisfying end-user needs for security, safety and convenience with annual sales of US $5.5 billion.

He is a graduate of Tufts and has a double Masters in Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Kelly Romano

Kelly Romano, president, Global Security Products at UTC Fire & Security is responsible for leading all engineering, manufacturing, distribution, sales and marketing for security solutions globally. Kelly often speaks on commercial building, industry and energy issues. Key addresses have included keynotes at the Intelligent Green and Energy Efficient Building Conference in Beijing, China and the Energy Efficient Building Conference in New Delhi, India.

Kelly graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo and received a Masters of Business Administration from Syracuse University. 

Jose Antonio Tijerino

Jose Antonio Tijerino is president and CEO of the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, which identifies, inspires, prepares, and positions Latino leaders in the classroom, community, and workforce. Tony has made sustainability and measurability his organizational priorities. Currently, Tony is part of a team developing a Green University to educate, certify, and place the current and future workforce in green jobs through an innovative on-line program.

Tony is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s School of Journalism.
