Prairie Skyscraper Exhibition: News Release

The National Building Museum will present a comprehensive exhibition celebrating the 50th anniversary of the completion of Frank Lloyd Wright’s only skyscraper—the Price Tower in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, of 1956.
2006 National Cherry Blossom Festival: News Release

The official kick-off for Washington D.C.’s National Cherry Blossom Festival® will begin on Saturday, March 25, 2006, with the first-ever National Cherry Blossom Festival Family Day, presented in collaboration with the National Building Museum from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Museum. Following the free Family Day, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, in collaboration with the National Building Museum, will present the official Opening Ceremony from 4:00 to 5:30 pm.
The Green House Exhibition: News Release

2006 Careers in Construction Expo: News Release

The free, one-day expo will introduce middle and high school students to the skills needed and training available for a variety of rewarding careers in the construction industry.
Liquid Stone Exhibition: News Release

Time to visit the National Building Museum’s popular exhibition, Liquid Stone: New Architecture in Concrete, is running out. The exhibition will close on January 29, 2006 after being on view for over a year and a half. A virtual version of the exhibition will still be available on the Museum’s website, and a concluding program with translucent concrete inventor Áron Losonczi on January 24, 2006 will help mark the exhibition closing. In addition, a book titled Liquid Stone: New Architecture in Concrete, based on theexhibition, will be released by Princeton Architectural Press in February.

Newer Orleans Exhibition: News Release

As the future of New Orleans is debated, a vision of what a restored New Orleans could look like will be on exhibit at the National Building Museum April 29th through July 30th. Newer Orleans—A Shared Space brings together six Dutch and American architectural firms to reveal their vision for symbolic and shared spaces for the Crescent City. Their works present a blueprint design of a New Orleans with a clearly defined city center and new green spaces that connect to the river.
Special Lecture: David Macaulay
During this lecture, Macaulay will discuss how he uses drawing not only to peel back exterior façades and interior walls, but also to show how buildings are designed and constructed.
