WHAT
Since 2003, the National Building Museum has proudly partnered with the Environmental Film Festival in the Nation's Capital to show films related to both the natural and built environment. This year, the Museum will screen two films:

Mother Nature’s Child
Sunday, March 17
In this documentary, nature’s powerful role in children’s health and development is explored through the experience of toddlers, children in middle childhood and adolescents, from Vermont to Washington, D.C. The film asks the questions: Why do children need unstructured time outside? How is play a form of learning? What does it mean to educate the “whole” child? Judy Lem, manager of special projects at KaBOOM! introduces the film.

Diller Scofidio + Renfro: Reimagining Lincoln Center and the High Line
Thursday, March 21
With the almost simultaneous completion of two large-scale projects in New York City—the renovation of the High Line and revitalization and expansion of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts—the award-winning interdisciplinary design firm of Diller Scofidio + Renfro has galvanized the public's attention. In this documentary, featuring remarkable cinematography, the architects discuss their projects along with interviews with New York City planning commissioner Amanda Burden and other civic figures.
