National Building Museum Opens Artist/Designer Search for First Ever Design Show
Now through May 15, the National Building Museum is accepting applications for its first juried Design Show in August 2013

WHAT
Set for August 2013, the National Building Museum’s inaugural design show brings together designers, artists, craftsmen, and other creatives to highlight unique, contemporary, and high-design works. The show emphasizes trendsetting new products, innovative technologies and materials, and sustainable designs created for both residential and commercial spaces.
The National Building Museum Design Show incorporates a wide range of handmade, custom, low production, decorative, and functional objects including: home furnishings, accessories, fine art and photography, kitchen and bath products, flooring, fabric, lighting, and outdoor fixtures. The resulting show will be a platform for talented international designers and artisans to share their work and an unprecedented resource for discerning consumers looking for the latest design work on the market.
The show includes a rigorous jurying process involving national figures in design, art, and architecture, which will assure the highest quality and most innovative exhibitors. Jurors include:
- Richard Kaplan, AIA, architect and trustee, J. M. Kaplan Fund
- Julie Smith-Clementi, principal, Rios Clementi Hale Studios
- Marc Hacker, thinker, Rockwell Group
