ABOUT
Canstruction is a charity of the design community that holds events, exhibitions, and competitions in local communities to raise food for hunger relief organizations and to promote the design industry. Canstruction was founded in 1992 by the Society for Design Administrators and has since raised over 20 million pounds of food for local communities around the world. Canstruction is one of the largest internationally recognized food drives of its kind.

Founded in 1988 by the Washington, D.C. Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, the Washington Architectural Foundation (WAF) has a clear mission: Architects Serving the Community. WAF serves a singular role in the region: leveraging the combined talents of hundreds of gifted architectural professionals in the service of our community. Through educational and community assistance programs, volunteer architects use their expertise and time to improve our neighborhoods, empower individuals, and create opportunities to encourage good design and quality architecture. WAF builds community, fosters respect for the built environment and increases young people’s knowledge of art, design, mathematics, and science in order to cultivate the next generation of Washington, D.C. stewards.

The National Building Museum is America’s leading cultural institution dedicated to advancing the quality of the built environment by educating people about its impact on their lives. Through its exhibitions, educational programs, online content, and publications, the Museum has become a vital forum for the exchange of ideas and information about the world we build for ourselves.
