2007 Summer Camp: Media Advisory
Artful Architects
What
Join the National Building Museum for one or two weeks of full-day summer camp. Each day campers will explore different topics or projects related to architecture, design, or engineering.
Inspired Architects: Session A of the NBM’s summer camp includes activities such as architectural print-making; a scavenger hunt of the Museum's historic home; creating tin ceiling tile rubbings and pressed copper magnets; making "terra cotta" tiles; exploring the architectural features in the Museum's surrounding neighborhood; and much more.
Daring Designers: Session B of the NBM’s summer camp includes activities such as designing a container for an egg-drop competition; creating plan, elevation, and section drawings; exploring five bridge types before constructing a model bridge; and constructing a one-room, one-story house using real power drills.

Children ages 8-11 (entering grades fourth through sixth in the fall).

When
Each camp consists of two sessions with the following theme: Symbols, Structures & Secrets. Join the camp for 1 or 2 weeks.
Camp I:
Session A (Inspired Architects): July 9 – July 13, 2007
Session B (Daring Designers): July 16 – July 20, 2007
Camp II:
Session A (Inspired Architects): July 23-July 27, 2007
Session B (Daring Designers): July 30 – August 3, 2007
Camp Hours: 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Early drop-off begins at 8:30 AM.
Fee
$375 per session, $325 per session for NBM Family-level and above Museum members. (Each session runs Monday-Friday of the scheduled week.)
